North Georgia Technical College (NGTC)
offers a wide array of programs from accounting to welding. It also offers dual enrollment and a continuing education program. NCTC is responsive to the training needs of employers and is the provider in Franklin County of Georgia’s acclaimed Quick Start program. Quick Start works with qualified companies to establish custom employee training programs, either on campus or on site, at no cost to the employer.
Franklin County Work-Based Learning
is designed to prepare Franklin County’s future workforce with career-oriented training through the Franklin County school system. This program combines work experience and related coursework to prepare students to join the workforce.
Those who choose traditional post-secondary education will find themselves close to Emmanuel University, a four-year, private, liberal arts college in Royston, Georgia, that offers 30 liberal arts programs, a dual enrollment program, and online courses; and the University of Georgia, just 45 minutes south of Franklin County, offering 161 undergraduate majors and more than 390 graduate programs. Franklin County is also within easy reach of Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University in Atlanta, and Clemson University in South Carolina.
